I'm no beauty blogger, but I love reading what people think about products before I make a purchase. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy things to review, but as I bought these anyway I thought I might as well share my thoughts.
I bought the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Reckless and MUA Luxe Power Brow in Mid Brown. I needed a new eyebrow pencil and I'm always on the hunt for the perfect red lipstick that is smudge-proof and long-lasting.

The packaging is really stylish and feels very expensive.
The last eyebrow pencil I had was by Bare Minerals in the same twist-up style and a similar shade. At £13 though, it didn't last long, so I wanted a cheaper alternative this time. I found the MUA Power Brow while I was looking at lip products and was pleased I did. It had good reviews, included a highlighter which seemed like a great idea and was £3!
When I tried it I was pleased to find the pencil is soft, so the colour goes on really well. The pencil has a good shape so its easy to get a neat line and the colour is really pigmented. The highlighter really brightened my eyes and overall I would give this 10/10, I LOVED it!
As for the lip lacquer, I was hoping it would be a similar product to Lime Crime's Velvetines, as everyone is raving about those at the moment. I read several reviews and chose the colour Reckless, which I thought looked like a classic red. I originally wanted the pink shade Funk too, but it was out of stock.
To put it on it is almost like painting your lips, the wand is not the easiest shape to use and I found it hard to get neat edge. I wasn't sure about using a lip liner so I didn't bother. It doesn't dry too quickly, so if you make a mistake it is easy to correct. Once dry it is totally set, so no smudging and although my lips felt dry they didn't feel like it would crack. I love the matt texture, but the colour was a lot darker than I was hoping for.
It is almost identical to the Maybelline 24 hour colour lipstick which I already have in 2 colours and reviewed one of them here if you are interested. Although the Maybelline one comes with a moisturising balm which you have to wear, I prefer the matt look of this. It is also a lot more expensive at £8.99 compared the MUA one which is only £3.
After eating it doesn't really look that good. Instead of rubbing off it sort of flakes off and I found you had to take it all off and start again, which is not good if you are out as you need make-up remover to get it off! I found these good for a long shift at work though or they would be good on a date.
Overall I would give this 6/10.
