S/S '13 trends part 1- The 90s are back

You may or may not know I am crazy about fashion. I've even got a degree in it!
So this week I am going to do a special 7-part series just on fashion, one S/S '13 trend each day, starting today with the 90s trend. I hope you're as excited as I am! I will look at how celebs are wearing it, street style and my favourite current pieces that you can buy.

I wasn't sure how I felt when I first heard the 90s were back, but its certainly better than I remember.

Lana Del Ray was recently spotted wearing a band t-shirt and tartan shirt tied around her waist. You don't get much more 90s than that! This is anti-fashion at it's finest that I'm sure even Kurt Cobain would approve of.

Rita Ora loves a bit of 90s fashion, here she shows us how its done with a crop top and cut off shorts, a bit of bling all topped off with a colourful beanie.

Finally I had to mention the Queen of grunge herself Fearne Cotton, who I have had a style crush on since forever. Well probably not when she was on Digit (remember those days?!)

Here are some of my picks from this seasons 90s fashion styles.

1.                                                   2.

1. This fab ombre skirt by H&M buy it here. Looks great paired with a simple t-shirt. Get free deliver until the 27th March with code "0439"

2. This retro crop top is perfect to stay on trend and would look fab under an oversized shirt. Buy one from Asos here.

3.                                         4.

3. "Mom jeans" are back! Although I'm a mum and I've never worn any this style I certainly remember my mum wearing them back in the day! Fairly similar to boyfriend jeans, only a more 90s feel to them in this gorgeous acid wash. Buy these Topshop ones here.

4. Camo is another hot trend right now, more specifically shirts and jackets. A bit like check shirts really, good worn open over a printed t-shirt to worn tied around the waist. Get this awesome Phix Clothing one here.

5.                                                            6.

5. Of course your grunge look wouldn't be right without a beanie to keep you warm while the months are still cold and short. Her is a super rad one by Aono, buy it here.

6.  To go with varsity jackets, college style oversized t-shirts are perfect right now too. The idea is to look like you stole if from your college boyfriend. This Lazy Oaf one can be found here.

7.                                                                8.

7. If you can't decided whether to opt for a denim shirt or a check one how about this one which encompasses both! It's from Topshop and you can buy it here from their website.

8.  Where would you be without a bag to complete you 90s look? This backpack is right on trend and it's from Accessorize, buy one here.

Finally I have one last thing for you to enjoy. I have been using polyvore for some time now (find me under username nerd-girl). I usually use the mobile app. I already love it, but today I thought I would give the full version a go on my laptop. Not only can I tell you I am even more head over heels, it is probably quite dangerous in the sense that I might now be spending all my free time on it. For someone who is already addicted to fashion and mood boards it is like heaven to me! So here is a little piece I made on there for you to enjoy! There will be many more of these to come too!
